Introduction
Hello and welcome to my home page.
I have created teachermike.org as my first domain and will be using it for several purposes.
The first of these is as a means to introduce myself to prospective employers as well as
students and their parents. The second is as an ongoing project involving a set of educational
links and resources.
I am the older of two children raised by a wonderful set of parents in West Philadelphia, near
the University of Pennsylvania; my father is a professor there, my mother a retired attorney. I
have one sister who is married to a wonderful husband.
I have a Master's in Education from St. Joseph's University, and have my Pennsylvania
Teaching Certification in Social Studies.
My goal is to find a job in which I can demonstrate my love for and interest in education, and
to this end you may see some of my interests and credentials by clicking 'Resume and
Transcript', above, which also has my PRAXIS, GRE and ASVAB scores.
Background
I have grown up with a love of learning, travel, and of open and free discussion and debate
about all topics, and have found throughout both my private and professional lives that those I
most respected and enjoyed engaging in conversation and discussion were those who
possessed specific qualities, which are the same ones I seek to constantly improve upon in my
teaching. Those qualities are a welcoming and kind manner; an enthusiasm for and an
appreciation for the interrelation of all knowledge; and a positive vision for the future.
